I have a hard time understanding the premise of certain books。 In this， the fmc has flown across the country to meet her favorite author。 Then she hangs out waiting in her hotel room for so long that she misses the entire event。 The author makes a huge deal that one of her friends doesn’t know how to blow dry her own hair， that the elevator is out of order， and that the fmc cannot walk down the stairs in a timely manner - but what trips me up is that if she had left early to get a good seat， sur I have a hard time understanding the premise of certain books。 In this， the fmc has flown across the country to meet her favorite author。 Then she hangs out waiting in her hotel room for so long that she misses the entire event。 The author makes a huge deal that one of her friends doesn’t know how to blow dry her own hair， that the elevator is out of order， and that the fmc cannot walk down the stairs in a timely manner - but what trips me up is that if she had left early to get a good seat， surely none of that would have mattered。 I guess she really didn’t care that much。 Then there is the moment when the author has the fictional author mock people for throwing around French words。 Except that the author uses intermittent French words and has an exchange where the fmc uses the rather common term “pièce de resistance” only to have her sister ask when she learned to speak French。 。。。more
